Chapter 10 - A Family Forged in Light

Ten years later.
The sun shone brightly over the rolling hills of the Castiglione estate. The old gray stone walls were now covered in blooming jasmine and climbing roses.
Renzo Castiglione, now fifty-eight, sat on the stone terrace watching his family. Leo, now sixteen, was preparing to leave for university in London to study law, determined to use his life to uphold justice. Mateo, ten years old, was kicked a football across the lawn with sharp, energetic movements, his gray eyes sparkling with vitality.
Ada, now eighteen, had just graduated at the top of her class from a prestigious international academy, preparing to take over management of the Castiglione Foundation’s global initiatives. She walked onto the terrace carrying two glasses of fresh lemonade, setting one down beside Renzo.
"You're thinking about the past again," Ada remarked with a knowing smile, leaning against the balcony railing.
"I am thinking about how different this world would be if an eight-year-old girl hadn't walked into my dining room on a rainy night," Renzo admitted, looking at her with deep affection and pride. "You didn't just save Mateo, Ada. You saved all of us."
"We saved each other," Ada replied softly.

Down on the lawn, Leo called out to them, waving for Ada to join in the game before dinner. Ada laughed, setting her glass down and running down the stone steps toward her brothers.
Renzo watched them go, taking a deep breath of the warm evening air. The dark world he had once ruled was gone, replaced by a legacy built on truth, protection, and unconditional love. The crying in the dark had ended, replaced forever by the light of a family restored.
