The trial lasted two grueling weeks. The prosecution presented the chat logs, hospital security footage of the broken IV pole, and expert medical testimony proving that the interference with the pump could have been fatal within minutes.
When Rachel took the stand as a cooperating witness in exchange for a slightly modified sentencing recommendation, she broke down in tears, admitting to every detail of the conspiracy. Daniel sat at the defense table, glaring at her with venomous hatred, realizing he had been completely abandoned.
The jury deliberated for less than three hours.
