Chapter 9 - A New Chapter

Three years later, the autumn air in upstate New York was crisp, scented with woodsmoke and fallen leaves. The sprawling estate overlooking the Hudson River—once a quiet sanctuary—was now filled with the warm laughter of friends, colleagues, and family gathered under a massive white tent set up on the manicured lawn.

It was a wedding day, but not just any wedding day.

Inside the bridal suite of the historic manor, Sienna stood in front of a full-length antique mirror, adjusting the delicate lace of her ivory wedding gown. Her reflection showed a woman who had fought through the darkest corners of the underworld and emerged into the brightest light imaginable.

The door opened softly, and Nico Reyes stepped inside, wearing a sharp grey suit with a white rose pinned to the lapel. He smiled—a rare, genuine expression that showed how far they had all come.

"The federal marshals outside are behaving themselves, and the groom is currently pacing holes into the lawn downstairs," Nico reported with a dry chuckle. "He asked if you changed your mind."

"Tell him escape is no longer an option," Sienna replied, her eyes shining with happiness. "I already signed the paperwork."

Nico walked over, gently offering his arm to escort her down the grand staircase. "It has been an absolute honor serving alongside you, Counselor. Though I still think my bartending tips were better."

"Your tips were terrible, Nico," she laughed, linking her arm through his. "Let's go."

Downstairs, beneath a floral arbor overlooking the sparkling expanse of the river, Damian Vance stood waiting. When the music began and Sienna appeared at the end of the aisle, the breath seemed to catch in his throat. All the power, the wealth, the empire he had built over a lifetime suddenly seemed entirely insignificant compared to the woman walking toward him.

As she reached the altar, Damian took her hands in his—warm, strong, and steady.

The officiant smiled, beginning the ceremony that would officially bind their lives together. But as they exchanged their vows, neither of them needed a script. They had tested each other in fire, survived the shadows, and built a future out of the ashes.

When the moment came for the rings, Damian slid a simple, elegant platinum band onto her finger, his gaze locked onto hers with fierce, enduring devotion.

"I love you, Sienna," he whispered, just loud enough for her to hear over the gentle rustle of the autumn breeze.

"I love you, Damian," she whispered back.

"You may kiss the bride," the officiant announced.

As Damian pulled her close and kissed her, a cheer rose from the gathered guests—lawyers, federal agents, friends, and allies—celebrating not just a marriage, but a triumph of justice, loyalty, and an unbreakable love that had defied the darkest odds.
