Chapter 4 - The Hamptons Infiltration

The salt air of the Hamptons was heavy and damp, carrying the distant crash of Atlantic waves against the rocky shore. A thick coastal fog had rolled in just after midnight, swallowing the sprawling, modernist monolith of Garrett Holloway’s estate in a blanket of grey haze.
Sienna crouched low against the exterior cedar wall of the second-floor balcony, her black tactical clothing blending seamlessly with the deep shadows. Her heart beat with a slow, rhythmic thud—not from fear, but from absolute, razor-sharp adrenaline.
On her wrist, a modified smartwatch blinked a silent countdown: 03:42 remaining. The systemic blackout Damian’s tech team had engineered was holding. Every security camera on the eastern perimeter was currently looping a thirty-second pre-recorded feed of empty lawn.
She reached into her utility belt, pulling out a specialized glass-cutter tool. With practiced, silent precision, she scored a circle into the reinforced French doors, tapped the center pane with a rubber mallet, and lifted the glass out entirely. She stepped through the opening into Holloway’s private study, her boots making no sound on the thick Persian rug.
The room smelled of stale cigar smoke, expensive bourbon, and old paper. Massive mahogany bookshelves lined the walls, and behind the oversized executive desk sat the primary objective: a biometric wall safe concealed behind a landscape painting of the Hudson River.
Sienna walked across the room, her hand hovering over the painting. She didn't need to pick the lock; Damian’s intelligence report had provided the backdoor administrative override code, captured during a rare server update three weeks prior.
She tapped the digital keypad embedded in the wood frame, entering the twelve-digit sequence.
Bip.
The green LED light flickered. The heavy steel door of the safe clicked and swung open outward.
Inside sat stacks of bearer bonds, a 9mm Walther pistol, and the small, metallic hardware token—a sleek obsidian rectangle blinking with a faint blue indicator light. The key to Vanguard Holdings. The instrument of Holloway's destruction.
Sienna reached inside her glove, her fingers brushing the cold metal of the token.
Suddenly, the overhead lights flooded the room with blinding white brilliance.
"I wondered how long it would take for Damian's little stray cat to find her way into my home," a cold, smooth voice drawled from the doorway.

Sienna spun around. Garrett Holloway stood leaning against the doorframe, wearing a silk bathrobe over his pajamas, a heavy revolver aimed directly at the center of her chest. His eyes were bloodshot, rimmed with malice and a terrifying, unhinged glee.
"You're smarter than your brother, Sienna," Holloway laughed softly, stepping further into the room. "Caleb cried when I found him on that dock. But you? You just stood there taking notes. Too bad your clever little plan ends right here on my floor."
