Marco Bellandi was turned over to federal custody as part of a cooperation agreement negotiated entirely by Elara. She had spent hours in the interrogation rooms, using her knowledge of the law to secure a deal that kept Marco in a maximum-security facility for the next thirty years while ensuring he could never reveal the Valente family’s internal operations.
On the day the trial concluded, Elara stood on the steps of the courthouse, surrounded by reporters. She was wearing a perfectly tailored navy suit, her hair styled professionally, looking every bit the high-society lawyer she had dreamed of becoming.
"Mrs. Valente!" a reporter shouted, thrusting a microphone forward. "Is it true you're joining the board of the Valente Foundation?"

Lorenzo stood three steps behind her, his arms crossed over his chest, a look of pure pride on his face. He didn't say a word; he didn't need to. The world knew who ran the Valente empire, but they were finally learning who directed its soul.
