Chapter 10 - Forever Home

One year later.

The sun shone brightly over the lush, green gardens of the Hale Estate. White roses bloomed along the marble walkways, and soft classical music drifted through the warm afternoon air.

It was a small, intimate wedding. Only close friends, loyal business partners like Arthur Vance, and Marcus were in attendance.

Victor stood at the altar under a canopy of white orchids, looking extraordinarily handsome in a tailored black tuxedo. Beside him stood Marcus as his best man. Evan, dressed in a tiny matching tuxedo, proudly held the velvet ring pillow, while Nora, wearing a adorable white lace dress, was busy tossing flower petals enthusiastically onto the grass.

The music shifted to a gentle, beautiful melody.

Everyone stood up.

Victor’s breath caught in his throat.

Amelia walked down the aisle, looking like an absolute vision. She wore an elegant, off-the-shoulder ivory gown that flowed gracefully around her, her hair styled in soft waves adorned with small white blossoms. She held a bouquet of wild lilies and white roses, but her eyes—radiant, joyful, and deeply in love—were fixed entirely on Victor.

When she reached the altar, Victor took her hand, his eyes shining with tears he made no effort to hide.

“You look breathtaking,” he whispered softly.

“You don't look too bad yourself, Mr. Hale,” she teased gently with a radiant smile.

The officiant stepped forward, beginning the ceremony. When it came time for the vows, Victor looked directly into Amelia’s eyes, holding both of her hands tightly.

“Amelia,” Victor said, his deep voice carrying through the quiet garden. “I used to believe that success was measured in buildings, stocks, and power. But I was blind. You showed me that real strength isn't about control; it’s about love, vulnerability, and family. I promise to cherish you, protect you, and love you every single day of my life. I promise to be the father our children deserve and the husband who will spend forever making you smile.”

Amelia wiped a happy tear from her cheek, her voice soft yet firm with conviction.

“Victor,” she said, looking into his soul. “When I first walked into your home, I saw a man carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. I fell in love with your quiet devotion to your kids, even when you didn't see it yourself. You gave me a home when I was lost, and you gave me a family to love. I promise to stand by your side through every storm, to love you unconditionally, and to build a life filled with joy, laughter, and endless love.”

“By the power vested in me,” the officiant announced with a warm smile, “I now pronounce you husband and wife. Victor, you may kiss your bride.”

Victor didn't hesitate for a second. He pulled Amelia into his arms, dipping her slightly as he pressed his lips to hers in a deep, passionate kiss that sealed their vows forever. The guests erupted into enthusiastic applause and cheers.

Evan and Nora ran up, hugging their parents' legs. Victor lifted both kids into his arms while keeping one arm firmly wrapped around Amelia’s waist.

Together, they walked back down the aisle, bathed in the warm, golden sunlight.

That evening, as the reception came to a close, Victor and Amelia walked up to the grand grand staircase inside the estate—the very spot where Victor had fallen two years ago.

They stood at the top of the stairs, looking down at the foyer. There were no ghosts here anymore. No dark secrets. No fear. The marble floor was covered with scattered flower petals and children’s toys.

Victor wrapped his arms around Amelia from behind, resting his chin on her shoulder as they watched Evan and Nora playing happily below with Marcus.

“Thinking about the fall?” Amelia asked softly, turning her head to kiss his cheek.

Victor smiled, wrapping his arms tighter around her, feeling the warmth of her body against his.

“I’m thinking about how it was the greatest fall of my life,” Victor murmured, kissing her tenderly on the lips. “Because falling down those stairs was the only way I could fall into your arms.”

And there, in the home they had built together out of love, truth, and forgiveness, Victor Hale and Amelia Brooks lived happily ever after.
