Chapter 10 - A Legacy Rewritten

One year later.

The grand courtyard of the Mercer estate was decorated with white roses and golden ribbons. The sun shone brightly as friends, family, and trusted colleagues gathered for the wedding of Dominic Mercer and Claire Sullivan.

Claire walked down the aisle in a graceful white lace dress, looking radiant. Emma walked ahead of her as the flower girl, proudly tossing rose petals, while Ben Carver stood by Dominic’s side holding a healthy, laughing one-and-a-half-year-old Caleb, who was wearing a tiny matching tuxedo.

When Dominic took Claire’s hands at the altar, he leaned in and whispered, “You are the best thing that ever happened to us.”

“And you are our home,” Claire replied softy.

They exchanged vows not of power or fear, but of enduring love, trust, and devotion to their family. As the minister pronounced them husband and wife, Dominic pulled Claire close and kissed her to the joyous cheers of their guests.

Later that evening, as the celebration continued under twinkling lights in the garden, Dominic and Claire stood together on the balcony watching Emma and Caleb play together near the fountain, safe, happy, and loved.
