Chapter 10 - A New Beginning
Two years later, the sun shone brightly over the lush green gardens of the Carter estate.
The heavy wooden gates at the end of the driveway were decorated with white flowers and ribbon. The backyard, which had once been an empty, quiet lawn, was filled with friends, family, and colleagues who had gathered for a joyful celebration.
Underneath a grand wooden arbor covered in blooming white roses, William and Clara stood hand-in-hand, exchanging vows of love, loyalty, and lifelong partnership.
Standing right beside William as his dual best men were twelve-year-old Mason and Luke, both dressed in sharp matching tuxedos, looking proud and confident. Beside Clara stood seven-year-old Noah, wearing a tiny tuxedo, holding the velvet box containing the wedding rings.
"I promise to honor you, protect you, and love you every day of my life," William said, his voice thick with emotion as he looked into Clara's eyes. "And I promise to always remember that the greatest wealth in the world is the love we share in this home."
Clara smiled, tears of pure happiness glistening in her eyes. "I promise to walk beside you, to share every joy and burden, and to build a life where our children always know they are safe, loved, and valued."
When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, the crowd burst into enthusiastic applause. William pulled Clara into a warm, deep kiss, while Mason, Luke, and Noah cheered loudly from the side.
At the reception on the lawn, the three boys ran through the grass together, playing a game of tag, their laughter carrying across the hillside. William stood on the terrace, wrapping his arms around Clara’s waist from behind as they watched their sons play.
