With David's guidance, we filed an emergency petition for temporary custody and a protective order. We presented the laminated card, the audio recording, and detailed affidavits outlining Claire's manipulative coercion of her young daughter.
When Claire returned from her trip two days later, expecting to find a house in disarray or a husband broken by her psychological trap, she was met instead by process servers at the door. The emergency injunction granted me temporary physical custody of Mia pending a full hearing, while Claire was temporarily restricted from unsupervised contact.
Claire's reaction was swift and furious. Her lawyers attempted to claim that the recording was taken out of context and that I had coerced Mia into handing over the card. They painted me as a controlling husband attempting to isolate a mother from her child.

During this stressful period, my primary focus remained entirely on Mia. I ensured her daily routine remained as normal and peaceful as possible. We cooked meals together, completed schoolwork, and spent afternoons at the park.
