Chapter 5 - Unmasking Vanessa

"Mr. Mitchell," Judge Reyes spoke, her voice ringing clearly through the solemn courtroom. "Do you consider defying a licensed speech therapist’s medical mandate to be appropriate parenting?"
Graham faltered, looking at his lawyer, who looked equally unsettled. "Your Honor, Vanessa was only trying to help—"
"Miss Vanessa lacks any formal education in speech therapy or child psychology," Eleanor interrupted cleanly, placing a certified background check on the bench. "In fact, she was dismissed from her last employment for enforcing punitive measures on minor children. Yet Mr. Mitchell allowed her to override a medical doctor's explicitly stated therapeutic boundaries."
Vanessa’s composed facade finally cracked. Her cheeks flushed bright red, and she let out a sharp, indignant gasp. "That’s a misrepresentation! I was building her resilience!" she blurted out, breaking court decorum.

Judge Reyes slammed her gavel down sharply. "Silence, Miss Vanessa! You have no standing in this court, and your conduct in that recording is deeply concerning."
The judge immediately issued a temporary order: primary physical custody remained entirely with me. Graham’s visitation was reduced to supervised weekends, with a strict restraining order forbidding Vanessa from being present during any of his parenting time or contacting Lucy in any capacity.
