Five years after that fateful, rainy night, Arden House hosted another gathering. But this time, there were no snobbish board members, no display of stolen wealth, and no tense, fearful whispers.

It was a small, intimate wedding.

Sophia walked down the garden aisle in a simple, elegant white dress, her hand resting on the arm of her long-time mentor, Evelyn Baird. Standing at the altar was Thomas, looking at her with tears of pure joy in his eyes.
