Chapter 8 - The Architecture of Love

As Sophia expanded her foundation, she collaborated with a brilliant, kind-hearted architect named Thomas Evans. Thomas was a man who built homes not for prestige, but for communities. He was patient, soft-spoken, and treated Sophia with a deep, unwavering respect that she had never experienced in her previous marriage.
More importantly, Thomas adored Wren. He never pushed himself into their lives, choosing instead to earn Wren's trust slowly, helping her build elaborate Lego castles and listening intently to her stories about school.
One evening, after a charity gala hosted at the newly opened Vance Community Center, Thomas walked Sophia back to the front doors of Arden House. The night air was warm, and the house was glowing with a soft, inviting light.

"You built something beautiful here, Sophia," Thomas said softly, looking at the house and then into her eyes. "Not just the building. The life inside it."
Sophia smiled, her hand resting gently against his. "It took a long time to realize that a roof is just shelter. The people inside are what make it a home."
