Chapter 8 - Justice and Redemption

Viktor leaped to his feet, sweating profusely, pointing a trembling finger at Rodrigo. “It’s a frame-up! He forged those documents while he was hiding out in the mountains! Don't listen to him—”

“Save your breath, Viktor,” Rodrigo interrupted, signaling toward the doorway.

Two federal investigators in dark suits stepped into the boardroom, flashing their badges.

“Viktor Vance, you are under arrest for corporate fraud, embezzlement, and securities manipulation,” the lead agent announced clearly, stepping forward and clicking heavy steel handcuffs onto Viktor’s wrists.

As the disgraced corporate raider was dragged out of the boardroom, cursing and thrashing, total silence descended upon the room. The board members sat paralyzed, terrified of what Rodrigo would do to them next for their complicity.

Rodrigo walked slowly to the head of the table, rested his hands on the polished wood, and looked around the room. He didn't fire the compromised directors on the spot; instead, he taught them a lesson in true leadership.

“You let fear and greed cloud your judgment,” Rodrigo said evenly. “You thought an empire could be stolen while its founder was fighting for what truly matters in life. Let this be a warning to all of you: Alarcón Enterprises is built on strength, resilience, and integrity. From this day forward, fifty percent of our corporate profits will be permanently dedicated to funding pediatric medical research and supporting families who cannot afford life-saving treatments.”

The board members sat in stunned silence before Arthur Sterling slowly began to clap, followed by every single person in the room. They weren't just applauding their survival; they were acknowledging a leader who had been reborn through fire and love.

That evening, Rodrigo returned home earlier than he had in years. He walked straight into the nursery, where Camila was laughing and playing with her building blocks, her cheeks rosy with vibrant, unstoppable health.

Claudia stood by the doorway, smiling softly as she watched father and daughter embrace.

Rodrigo stood up, walked over to Claudia, and gently took her hands.

“Claudia,” Rodrigo said, his voice thick with emotion. “You saved my daughter’s life, and today, you helped me save my soul. I can never repay you for what you’ve done for our family.”

Claudia shook her head, tears of happiness welling in her eyes. “You don't need to repay me, sir. Just keep being the father she deserves.”
