Chapter 10 - The Beautiful Destiny

The wedding was small, intimate, and held in the beautiful gardens of their Coyoacán home. There were no high-society guests, no paparazzi, and no corporate sponsors. Only their closest friends, Valeria’s colleagues from the hospital, and a few family members who had truly supported them, including a humbled Rodrigo, who had managed to save a portion of the family assets and was slowly learning to live outside of his mother's shadow.

Leonor, though unable to attend due to her health, had sent a beautiful, simple silver heirloom rattle for Lucia, along with a letter written by her nurse, wishing them a lifetime of happiness. It was a quiet, respectful gesture that Valeria accepted with a warm heart.

Valeria stood in front of the mirror in her dressing room, wearing a simple, elegant ivory silk dress that draped beautifully over her figure. Her hair was styled in soft waves, adorned with a few purple jacaranda flowers.

The door opened, and Sofia walked in, looking like a little princess in her white flower-girl dress.

"You look so beautiful, Valeria," Sofia whispered, her eyes wide with admiration.

"Thank you, sweetheart," Valeria smiled, kneeling down to be at eye level with her. She took Sofia’s hands in hers. "You know, Sofia, today is not just about your dad and me getting married. It’s about all of us officially becoming a family. I am so lucky to have you as my daughter."

Sofia smiled, a sweet, genuine expression. "I’m lucky too, Valeria. I’m glad you’re my mom."

The words warm Valeria's heart to its core. She hugged Sofia tightly, a deep sense of completeness settling over her.

A few minutes later, the music began to play—a soft, acoustic guitar melody.

Valeria walked out into the garden, her hand resting on her father's old friend's arm, who had agreed to walk her down the aisle.

Elias stood at the altar, looking incredibly handsome in a classic navy suit. The moment his eyes met hers, his face lit up with a joy so pure it made Valeria’s breath catch. Next to him stood Rodrigo, holding a very distracted Lucia, who was trying to grab the rose in his lapel.

The ceremony was brief but deeply emotional. When they exchanged vows, there was not a dry eye in the audience.

"I promise to love you, protect you, and cherish you," Elias said, his voice thick with emotion, sliding the ring onto her finger. "In the light and in the dark, through every storm and every sunny day. You are my home, Valeria."

"And I promise to stand by you, to build our life on truth, and to love you with everything I have," Valeria replied, tears of happiness spilling down her cheeks as she slid his ring onto his finger. "We built this family on a promise of forever, Elias. And I will keep that promise every single day."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister smiled. "Elias, you may kiss your bride."

Elias pulled Valeria close, his hand resting protectively on the small of her back as he kissed her with a deep, passionate love that sealed their destiny.

The crowd erupted into cheers and applause. Sofia threw handfuls of purple petals into the air, and Lucia clapped her tiny hands, squealing with delight.

As the sun began to set over Coyoacán, casting a warm, golden glow over the garden, Elias and Valeria stood together, holding their daughters in their arms.

The whispers of the past, the threats, and the fear had all vanished, replaced by the beautiful, unshakeable reality of the family they had fought for—and won. They had rewritten their story, and the future was brighter than they had ever dared to dream.
