Chapter 10 - The Sanctuary We Built

Two years later, our garden was filled with white flowers, soft ribbons, and the cheerful sounds of acoustic music. Friends, family, Alex’s squad mates, and doctors who had saved my life gathered under the open sky to celebrate our wedding.

I stood before the mirror in my dress, looking at my reflection. There was no trace left of the broken, terrified woman who once bled on a cold kitchen floor at 5 AM. In her place stood a strong, loving mother and wife, surrounded by unconditional protection and happiness.

Alex walked into the room, dressed in a sharp navy suit. He looked at me with deep pride.

"You ready, little sister?" he asked, offering his arm.

"More than ready," I replied, tucking my arm through his. "Thank you for answering that call, Alex. You saved my life."

"You saved yourself, Clara," Alex said gently. "You fought for Hope, and you held on. I just opened the door."

As we walked down the aisle toward David, who stood waiting with tears in his eyes, Hope ran ahead dropping rose petals along the path. The sun shone warmly overhead, washing away every ghost of the past.

Justice had been served. The monsters who tried to break us were erased from our lives, paying for their crimes behind cold iron bars. But more importantly, we hadn't just survived—we had built a life filled with laughter, warmth, and indestructible peace.

Hand in hand with David, holding my daughter close, I finally knew what true safety felt like. The darkness was gone, and our light would never fade again.
