Chapter 9 - The Wedding

The wedding was held six months later on the sunlit cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean—a private, intimate ceremony surrounded only by real friends, family, and loved ones.
There were no press crews, no corporate sponsors, and no high-society fakes.
The autumn breeze carried the scent of fresh roses and salt water. The altar was decorated with simple white orchids and wildflowers picked by the triplets themselves.
Richard stood at the end of the aisle dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, his heart beating with a nervous excitement he hadn't felt since he was a young man. Beside him stood his best man—his longtime personal assistant who had stood by him through the family's transformation.
Then, the music began to play—a soft, acoustic piano melody.
Walking down the aisle first were the three ring bearers: Ethan, Noah, and Liam. Dressed in matching tiny tuxedos, they carried three velvet pillows, beaming with huge, toothy grins as they trotted toward their father.
And then came Emily.
She walked down the aisle on the arm of her older brother, who had flown in from her hometown. She wore an exquisite, timeless lace dress with a soft veil trailing behind her. She looked breathtaking, her eyes shining with happiness as she looked directly at Richard.
When her brother handed her hand over to Richard, Richard leaned in and whispered, "You look like a dream."
"You don't look so bad yourself," Emily teased softly, her eyes twinkling.
The ceremony was brief, heartfelt, and deeply moving. When the officiant asked for the vows, Richard looked into Emily's eyes, his voice steady and full of devotion.
"Emily, I spent years looking for perfection in all the wrong places. I thought I had to build a fortress to keep the world out. But you showed me that a home isn't built with bricks or money—it's built with love, patience, and forgiveness. I promise to honor you, respect you as my equal, and love you fiercely for the rest of my days."
Emily squeezed his hands, her voice soft yet carrying a powerful warmth.
"Richard, we started in a place of misunderstanding and pain, but we built something beautiful out of the pieces. You showed me that a person can change if they love deeply enough. I promise to stand by you, to build our life together with honesty and joy, and to love you and our boys with everything I have."
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife," the officiant declared. "You may kiss the bride."
Richard pulled Emily close and kissed her deeply under the warm afternoon sun, while the three little boys jumped up and down, cheering wildly and clapping their tiny hands.

"Yay! Miss Emily is our Mommy now!" Ethan shouted, throwing his arms around Emily's dress the moment the kiss ended.
Emily dropped down to her knees, oblivious to her white dress touching the grass, and pulled all three boys into her arms alongside Richard, who knelt beside them, wrapping his arms around his entire world.
