Chapter 10 - A Bright Future

Two years later, the Lake Forest estate was decorated with hundreds of white lilies and fresh red roses for a private celebration.

Friends, family, and trusted allies gathered in the grand conservatory—now completely restored with bright glass panes and vibrant flowers—to witness the wedding of Adrian Vale and Rachel Carter.

Lily, now nine years old, stood proudly as the maid of honor, holding Teddy securely under her arm. Five-year-old Emma, looking adorable in a little white dress, served as the flower girl, tossing rose petals down the aisle with a bright, triumphant smile.

When Adrian and Rachel exchanged rings, the room erupted into applause. Adrian pulled his new wife close, kissing her deeply as the sun beamed through the glass ceiling, filling the space with warmth and light.

After the ceremony, the family gathered on the expansive green lawn near the rose garden. The dark past of the mafia, the betrayals, and the grief had finally faded into history, replaced by a promise of enduring peace and happiness.

Lily ran over to Emma, grabbing her hands to spin her around in circles on the soft grass. Emma laughed, her joy echoing across the garden.

Adrian stood beside Rachel, wrapping his arm around her waist as they watched their daughters play. He reached down into his pocket and pulled out a small, framed photograph of Claire, placing it gently on a stone bench beside a vase of fresh white roses.

"We're happy, Claire," Adrian whispered softly to the gentle breeze. "Our sweet girl is safe, and our home is full of love again."

As if in answer, a warm breeze stirred the rose petals around them.

Emma stopped spinning, looking over at the teddy bear sitting on the stone bench next to Claire's picture. She smiled, trotted over, and gave the bear a tight squeeze before looking up at Adrian and Rachel.

"Teddy says he's happy now too," Emma announced happily.

Adrian chuckled, picking up the little girl and holding her high on his shoulder while Lily wrapped her arms around his waist.

"Me too, Emma," Adrian said, kissing Rachel softly on the forehead. "Me too."
