Chapter 10 - A Beautiful Beginning

Three years later, the lawn of the Castiglione estate was covered in white flowers, silk ribbons, and the joyous sound of laughter.
Leo, now a healthy, energetic three-year-old with a mischievous smile and a head of dark curls, ran through the grass wearing a tiny tuxedo. He was carrying a velvet pillow with two golden bands resting on top.
Dominic stood at the altar under a canopy of white roses, looking jaw-droppingly handsome in a classic black tux. His eyes were fixed on the garden path.
The music swelled, and Clara appeared, walking down the aisle on the arm of her proud father. She wore a stunning, flowing lace gown, her dark hair pinned back with delicate pearl clips. Her eyes were bright with tears of pure, unadulterated joy.
As she reached the altar, Dominic took her hands, his eyes reflecting the brilliant afternoon sun and a love so deep it left him breathless.
"You saved my son," Dominic said, his voice carrying over the quiet, gathered crowd of close friends, family, and hospital staff. "And in doing so, you saved me. You brought light into my darkest hour, Clara. I promise to spend the rest of my life making you happy, safe, and loved."
"I loved you from the moment I saw the father behind the armor," Clara replied, her voice steady and filled with emotion. "You are my home, Dominic. You and Leo are my entire world."
They exchanged vows, their promises sealing a bond forged in the crucible of fear and perfected in the warmth of unconditional love.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared.

Dominic pulled Clara into his arms, dipping her slightly as he kissed her deeply, amidst the roaring cheers of their loved ones and Leo’s happy, clapping laughter.
As they walked back down the aisle hand-in-hand, with Leo riding happily on Dominic's shoulder, Clara looked up at the bright blue sky. The shadows of the past were completely gone, replaced by the beautiful, endless light of their new beginning.
