Chapter 10 - The Legacy of Love

Years later, the Caldwell estate was no longer known as the silent, imposing fortress on the hill. It was known as a home filled with laughter, running footsteps, and boundless warmth.

Ava, Owen, Miles, and Sophie grew into bright, energetic children who knew all about their mother, Nora, through the stories their father and Aunt Clara shared every single day. Her photographs lined the halls, her favorite music filled the rooms, and her spirit remained a living, breathing part of their everyday lives.

On a warm autumn evening, Ethan stood in the nursery doorway—the same doorway where it had all started years ago.

Inside, four small beds sat against the wall. Four children were sleeping soundly, wrapped in warmth and security.

Ethan walked over to the old blue rocking chair, sat down, and looked up at the framed photograph of Nora smiling back at him.

He smiled softly, whispering into the quiet room, "You won, Nora. They're going to be just fine."

And somewhere in the gentle evening breeze, it felt as though she answered back.
