Oliver thrived. Away from the subtle put-downs and the constant walking-on-eggshells atmosphere my parents created, his true personality bloomed. He wasn't the quiet, anxious boy who tried to make himself invisible anymore. He was loud, joyful, inquisitive, and full of laughter.
