Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

One year after the fateful day Rowan had spotted Megan on the side of the road in Franklin, the sun rose over a magnificent pavilion set up in the gardens of their estate.

It was a beautiful, intimate ceremony. There were no high-society politicians, no corporate sharks, and no fake smiles. Only a small group of true friends, the loyal staff who had helped protect them, and their family.

Rowan stood at the altar, looking incredibly sharp in a classic tuxedo. Beside him stood his best man—his security chief, who had become a close friend through their shared battle.

The music began to play, a sweet, soulful melody performed on a acoustic guitar.

Rowan’s breath caught in his throat as the terrace doors opened.

Megan walked down the aisle. She wore a stunning, simple white lace gown that flowed around her like a cloud. Her blond hair was styled in soft waves, and her smile was the brightest thing in the entire valley.

Walking ahead of her were three little helpers. Well, more accurately, they were being wheeled in a beautiful, flower-adorned wooden wagon by Rowan's trusted assistant. Leo, Jonah, and Clara sat side-by-side in the wagon, dressed in matching tiny formal outfits, laughing and clapping their hands as the guests cheered.

When Megan reached the altar, Rowan took her hands in his. They were both smiling, their eyes shining with absolute certainty.

The minister smiled at the couple. "We are gathered here today not just to celebrate a marriage, but to celebrate a restoration. A triumph of truth over deception, and love over adversity."

As they exchanged their vows, Rowan looked down at their children in the wagon, then back at the beautiful woman standing before him. The memory of the deserted road, the twenty-dollar bill in the dirt, and the bitter pain of the past year felt like a distant, faded lifetime. They had walked through the darkest valley imaginable and emerged into the brightest dawn.

"I do," Rowan said, his voice strong and clear.

"I do," Megan whispered, her eyes locked onto his.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife," the minister declared. "You may kiss the bride."

Rowan pulled Megan into his arms, kissing her with all the passion, devotion, and reverence in his soul. The guests erupted into cheers, and from the wagon, little Clara let out a loud, joyful squeal, as if she knew exactly what this moment meant.

Later that evening, as the celebration wound down and the stars filled the sky, Rowan and Megan stood on the edge of the pavilion, watching their three children sleep peacefully in a triple-bassinet nearby, watched over by a loving nanny.

Rowan wrapped his arm around Megan's waist, pulling her flush against his side. She leaned her head on his shoulder, letting out a deep sigh of pure contentment.

"We made it, Rowan," she murmured, looking out at the beautiful life they had built together.

Rowan kissed the top of her head, his heart overflowing with a peace he had never known before. "We're home, my love. For good."
