Chapter 7 - The Grand Rebirth

The wedding of Ava Sullivan and Nicholas Maro was the event of the year in New York—not because of the media frenzy, which Nicholas’s security team kept strictly managed, but because of its sheer elegance and symbolic triumph.

Held at the sprawling Hudson Valley estate under a magnificent glass conservatory draped in thousands of white orchids and climbing ivy, the ceremony was attended by a carefully curated circle of close friends, trusted allies, and philanthropic leaders.

Ava wore a breathtaking custom gown of hand-stitched white lace and silk organza, her dark hair cascading in soft waves around her shoulders. As she walked down the white-petal-strewn aisle escorted by Margaret Doyle—who had become a cherished maternal figure in both her and Lily’s lives—she caught sight of Nicholas standing at the altar.

He wore a classic bespoke tuxedo, his slate-gray eyes shining with an unmistakable, fierce devotion as he watched her approach.

In the front row, now six months old and wearing a tiny matching lace dress, little Lily sat on the lap of one of Nicholas’s most trusted senior executives, clapping her hands happily as her mother drew near.

When Ava reached the altar, Nicholas took her hands in his, his grip firm, warm, and absolute.

"You are my greatest victory, Ava," he whispered softly for her ears alone as the officiant began to speak.

"And you are my sanctuary," she replied, smiling through her tears.

When the exchange of vows concluded and Nicholas leaned down to kiss his bride, a chorus of applause rang out through the conservatory. It wasn't just a marriage of two people; it was the birth of an unbreakable family forged from the ashes of betrayal.
