Chapter 2 - The Truth Exposed

The heavy feedback screech of the microphone piercing the ballroom’s acoustic ceiling panels brought every breath in the room to an abrupt halt. Vivien blinked, her glossy red lips parted in utter shock as she reached out to snatch the device back.

"Daniel, darling, what are you doing?" Vivien laughed nervously, her voice trembling slightly as she glanced at the sea of affluent guests holding champagne flutes. "The joke's over. Let's not let my pathetic sister ruin our night—"

"Shut up, Vivien," Daniel’s voice rang out, cold, flat, and absolute. It carried the chilling authority of a courtroom prosecutor resting his case.

My mother stood up from her chair, her face draining of color. "Daniel, honey, you're stressed. Sit down and let security escort these uninvited vagrants out. They don't belong here."

"Uninvited?" Daniel turned slowly, his gaze sweeping over the crowd before landing squarely on my parents. "Morgan didn't crash this wedding. I invited her. And more importantly, I invited every single person here to witness the true nature of the family you all revere so deeply."

Ethan whimpered against my hip, his small body burning with feverish stress. I crouched down, wrapping my arms around him, shielding his ears from the escalating drama, though the electric tension in the room was palpable.

"For months," Daniel continued, raising the microphone higher, "I’ve watched how the Ingram family treats Morgan and her son. I thought it was just coldness. I thought it was mere familial dysfunction. But three days ago, my tech team flagged a shared family archive synced to a cloud drive I foolishly helped set up for Vivien."

Vivien shrieked, finally realizing the nightmare unfolding. "Don't you dare! Daniel, if you play that—if you listen to her lies—!"

"It's not a lie, Vivien. It's a digital paper trail," Daniel said calmly. With his free hand, he tapped the screen of his phone, casting the display onto the massive dual projectors flanking the ballroom stage.

Instantly, a high-resolution screenshot of a family group chat titled 'The Real Ingrams' illuminated the entire room. Profile pictures, phone numbers, and timestamps were clearly visible for all three hundred guests to read.
