Chapter 10 - A Symphony of Laughter and Light

Spring returned to Madrid, bringing blooming almond trees and warm blue skies.

The wedding of Rodrigo Fontes and Estela de Vasconcellos was held in the sweeping, sunlit gardens of the La Moraleja estate.

It was not a cold, stiff corporate networking event. It was a celebration of love, second chances, and true family.

Executives from Fontes Holdings, janitorial staff, charity workers, and close friends gathered under white silk canopies decorated with fresh roses and lavender.

Rodrigo stood at the altar, looking handsomer than ever in a dark navy tailored suit. But he was no longer the intimidating, cold man who terrified everyone. His face was bright, his expression relaxed, and his gray eyes shone with immense warmth.

Down the aisle walked little Aurora, wearing a beautiful white flower-girl dress with red shoes, dropping rose petals with wide, enthusiastic swings of her arms.

And then came Estela.

She was breathtaking in a simple, elegant lace gown, holding a bouquet of wild flowers, her smile radiating pure happiness.

As she reached Rodrigo, he took her hands in his, whispering, "You are beautiful."

"And you," Estela whispered back with a radiant smile, "are no longer sad."

They exchanged vows filled with promises of eternal support, laughter, and unwavering love. When the priest pronounced them husband and wife, Rodrigo pulled Estela close and kissed her deeply while the entire crowd broke into joyous applause.

The reception that followed was a glorious party filled with music, dancing, and endless laughter.

In the corner of the garden, a massive golden retriever puppy—Aurora's long-awaited wish—chased autumn leaves, bringing delight to all the children present.

As the sun began to set, casting a stunning golden glow across the estate, Rodrigo walked over to the edge of the terrace, holding a glass of champagne.

Estela came up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head against his back.

"What are you thinking about, my love?" Estela asked softly.

Rodrigo looked out at the garden—at the children playing with the dog, at their friends laughing together, and at little Aurora, who was currently busy placing a single pink rose petal on the wedding cake table.

He placed his hand over Estela’s.

"I was just thinking," Rodrigo said with a gentle, contented smile, "about how a single crumb on a mahogany desk managed to save my life."

He turned around, pulling Estela into his arms, and kissed her forehead as the stars began to twinkle in the Madrid sky—a sky that was no longer dark, cold, or lonely, but forever bright with love.
