Chapter 10 - A New Dawn in Seattle

A year after the rainy night that changed their lives forever, the sun set over Elliott Bay, painting the Seattle sky in brilliant shades of gold, crimson, and lavender.
At the Bainbridge estate, the heavy iron gates stood open. The dark, mysterious atmosphere of the property had been replaced by vibrant gardens, open terraces, and the warm glow of evening lights.
A small gathering was taking place on the broad wooden deck overlooking the ocean. Friends, clinic staff, Dr. Chen, and Marcus were chatting and laughing over dinner.
Nia stood near the balcony railing, wearing an elegant emerald green dress that complemented her radiant skin. Her left wrist caught the golden light of the setting sun—the thin silver bracelet still resting securely against her skin, polished and restored to its original shine.
Adrian walked up behind her, slipping his arms gently around her waist and resting his chin on her shoulder.
"What are you thinking about?" he whispered, his voice rich and full of contentment.
"I was thinking about the seventh car," Nia murmured, leaning back into his warm embrace. "The one that almost stopped on the curb that night. I thought when it drove away, my life was over."
"And now?" Adrian asked softly, turning her around so he could look into her eyes.
"Now I know that sometimes, the world makes you wait through the rain so the right person can find you," Nia smiled, reaching up to touch his face.
Adrian looked at her with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat. From his pocket, he pulled out a small, velvet box. He opened it to reveal a simple, exquisite platinum ring set with a brilliant diamond that mirrored the light of the ocean.
"Eleven years ago, you gave me a second chance at life," Adrian said, his voice thick with emotion as he held her hand. "Sixteen months ago, you gave me a heart. Nia Whitaker, will you spend the rest of your life building a future with me?"
Tears of joy brimmed in Nia’s eyes as she looked from the ring to the man who had protected her, fought for her, and cherished her.
"Yes," she whispered softly, her voice filled with absolute certainty. "Yes, Adrian. Absolutely."

As Adrian slipped the ring onto her finger, the crowd on the terrace erupted into applause and cheers. Adrian pulled Nia close, kissing her deeply under the canopy of the twilight sky.
The rain had passed. The shadows had cleared. And in the heart of Seattle, a story that began on a dark, forgotten curb found its forever home in the light.
