Chapter 7 - The Billionaire's Wrath

Victoria staggered backward, her phone slipping from her trembling fingers and clattering against the cold tile floor.
"N-Nathan..." Victoria stammered, her voice pitching into a desperate, pathetic whine as she forced a watery, trembling smile. "Thank goodness you're here! This... this maid, Maria, she broke into my room, she threatened me, she’s trying to frame me with forged documents—"
"Save your breath, Victoria," Nathan interrupted, his voice dropping into a low, rumbling register that commanded absolute silence. He stepped past her, walking directly over to Maria, and gently placed a hand on the young woman’s shoulder.
"Thank you, Maria," Nathan said softly, his voice thick with emotion and profound gratitude. "You saved my father's life. And you saved this family."
Maria offered a respectful nod, her eyes shining with unshed tears of relief.
Nathan turned back toward Victoria, his expression hardening into pure fury. He pulled a sleek tablet from his jacket pocket and tapped the screen, casting a high-definition video file onto the smart screen mounted on the kitchen wall.
The screen immediately lit up with crystal-clear footage recorded by a tiny, high-end security camera Maria had discreetly mounted above the kitchen doorway earlier that morning—capturing Victoria’s entire frantic confession, her vicious threats against Maria’s mother, and her explicit admission of stealing from and poisoning Arthur Cole.
Beneath the video, Attorney Vance stepped forward, holding out a thick stack of printed forensic reports and certified digital copies of the stolen folio contents.
"We’ve already authenticated the files, Mr. Cole," the lawyer stated formally. "The cardiac glycoside found in Miss Sinclair’s desk matches the exact chemical composition detected in Arthur’s recent blood panels. Furthermore, the offshore bank accounts match the routing numbers registered under Victoria’s true legal identity—an identity, I might add, that includes a prior federal indictment for financial fraud under an alias in Chicago five years ago."
Victoria stared at the screen, her mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Every lie, every carefully constructed mask, every manipulative scheme had been completely blown apart in less than five minutes.
"You... you recorded me..." Victoria whispered, her eyes wide with psychotic rage as she lunged forward toward Maria like a wild animal. "You filthy little—!"
She didn't even take two steps before Nathan’s security guards stepped cleanly into her path, pinning her arms firmly behind her back with professional, unyielding force.

"Get her out of my sight," Nathan commanded coldly, his gaze fixed on Victoria with utter disgust. "Hand her over to federal authorities immediately. Ensure every single charge—attempted murder, elder abuse, wire fraud, and extortion—is filed to the absolute maximum extent of the law."
"You can't do this to me! You need me! You love me!" Victoria screamed, kicking and thrashing as she was dragged out through the grand corridors of the estate, her desperate shrieks fading away down the long driveway as the flashing red and blue lights of local police cruisers finally illuminated the front gates.
