Chapter 8 - The Triplet's Triumph

Six months later, Corinne and Julian were married in an intimate, beautiful outdoor ceremony surrounded by close friends, family, and the medical staff who had saved the triplets' lives four years prior, including Dr. Mara Ellison and Nurse Tessa Monroe.

Clara, Beatrix, and Maeve served as the flower girls, wearing matching white dresses and flower crowns, beaming with pride as they walked down the aisle ahead of their mother. Following the ceremony, Julian officially presented the girls with adoption papers he had filed, formally adopting them as his own daughters with their enthusiastic approval.

Meanwhile, Landon watched the news of the high-profile wedding through social media posts shared by mutual acquaintances. Sitting alone in a small, rented apartment in Portland, he realized the ultimate cost of his arrogance. He had traded a loyal wife and three healthy, wonderful daughters for a fleeting affair and a corporate ambition that had chewed him up and spat him out.

Corinne, standing beside Julian on the sunlit terrace of their home, looked out at her daughters playing tag on the grass. The memory of that rainy Monday afternoon in the delivery room—the heart monitors, the empty chair, and the cold laugh on the phone—no longer held any power over her.

Holding Julian's hand tightly, Corinne smiled as her three little girls ran toward them, laughing under the bright, clear sky, their heartbeats strong, healthy, and forever cherished.
