Chapter 9 - Justice and Healing
Spring arrived in Maine with blooming lilacs and clear blue skies. Within two weeks of each other, both sisters went into labor.
At the local medical center—under the care of an empathetic team of female doctors recommended by Marcus—Megan gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby girl named Grace. Twelve days later, Rachel gave birth to a strong, healthy baby boy named Liam.
Holding their newborn children in the quiet warmth of the hospital room, Megan and Rachel looked at each other with tears of joy.
"They're going to grow up knowing how much they are loved," Rachel whispered, gently holding her son's tiny hand. "And they'll grow up knowing their mothers are strong."
