Chapter 8 - The Siege of the Valente Citadel

Salieri’s loyalists attempted a desperate last-ditch counterattack, plunging the Citadel into a brief but fierce battle. However, with Don Camillo and the remaining council families throwing their full weight behind the Duca-Valente alliance, Salieri’s mercenary forces were quickly overwhelmed and disarmed.
Salieri was led away in chains, stripped of his titles and assets, destined to face syndicate justice for the murders he had committed two decades prior.
With the council united and the traitor brought down, Roman and Clara returned to the restored Valente Estate—the grand, historical palace overlooking the cliffside that had stood vacant since the tragedy of her childhood.

The wind carried the scent of salt air and blooming jasmines. She felt Roman’s arms gently wrap around her waist from behind, his chin resting softly against her shoulder.

"It’s yours again," Roman said quietly. "All of it. The estate, the harbor, the legacy."
Clara leaned back against his chest, feeling the steady, strong beat of his heart. "It isn't just mine, Roman. We fought for this together."
