Chapter 10 - Dawn over the Harbor

Two years later.

The early morning sun streamed through the sheer curtains of the master bedroom in the Valente Estate. The peaceful sound of ocean waves crashing gently against the cliffs filled the room.

Roman lay awake, his arm wrapped tightly around Clara, watching her sleep. The scar on her shoulder caught the golden sunlight, a proud symbol of their shared history and triumphant journey.

Clara stirred softly, opening her dark eyes and smiling as she saw her husband staring at her with unconditional warmth and adoration.

"Good morning, my Lord," she teased softly, reaching up to run her fingers through his dark hair.

"Good morning, my Empress," Roman replied, kissing her forehead tenderly. He slid his hand down to rest gently over her stomach, where a subtle, beautiful swell was beginning to show beneath her nightgown.

A new heir—a child born not from bloodshed or fear, but from true love, unity, and resilience—was growing inside her. The Valente and Duca lines were no longer divided by tragedy; they were forged into an unbreakable bond that brought permanent peace and prosperity to the entire city.

Clara placed her hand over Roman’s, intertwining their fingers as they looked out the grand window together at the shimmering harbor below. The darkness was gone, replaced by the brilliant, unbroken promise of a happy, everlasting future.
