Chapter 6 - Birth from the Darkness

As months passed, our home transformed. The quiet, solemn house that once held only my lonely footsteps during Emily’s coma was now vibrant with life, laughter, and the gentle gurgles of baby Leo.

Emily underwent physical therapy every day. Her strength returned rapidly, fueled by her deep desire to carry her son through the park, to dance with him in the kitchen, and to teach him about his heritage.

One sunny afternoon, Rosa and Lily visited our home. Lily brought a small wooden box filled with flower seeds.

"For the baby," Lily said proudly, handing the box to Emily. "So he can grow things."

Emily knelt down and hugged the little girl tightly. "Thank you, Lily. If it wasn't for you and your jar of dirt, I might still be sleeping."

"My grandma says dirt isn't just mud," Lily replied innocently. "It's where life stays warm until it's time to sprout."

We all laughed, a clean, bright sound that filled every corner of our home.
