Chapter 6 - Breaking the Silence

Isabella grunted in pain, stumbling back a step, but her grip on Emma's collar tightened. "You think a simple maid can defeat me? William trusts me! The police will believe my word over a servant's any day of the week!"
"Not if the whole world knows what you did," a deep, cold, commanding voice echoed down the hallway.
Isabella froze.
Emma blinked away the blurry spots in her vision and looked toward the end of the corridor.
Standing there, flanked by two private security guards and staring with eyes wide, hollow, and filled with a terrifying realization, was William Sterling.
Beside him stood little Ethan, clutching his father's tuxedo jacket and pointing a trembling finger at Isabella. "Daddy! That's her! She locked me in the dark box under the floor and said she killed mommy too!"
William’s face drained of all color. The billionaire stepped forward, his fists clenched so tightly his knuckles turned chalk-white. The carefree joy of the wedding reception had vanished completely, replaced by the dark, razor-sharp fury of a man who had just discovered his entire life was a carefully constructed lie.
"Isabella..." William’s voice was barely a whisper, yet it carried the weight of an avalanche. "Is it true?"
For a single second, Isabella looked trapped. Then, her features shifted into a masterclass of manipulation. Her eyes welled with sudden, fake tears, and her voice trembled with theatrical betrayal. "William! Thank goodness! The boy... he's gone mad with grief, and this insane maid—she attacked me, she hallucinated some wild story—she's trying to ruin us!"
She reached out a manicured hand toward him, playing the devoted, fragile newlywed. "William, you believe me, don't you? After everything we share?"
William stared at his new wife. He looked from her tear-stained face down to the heavy baroque painting behind her, then to the secret opening in the wall, and finally to the terrified, bruised face of his son and his loyal housekeeper, Emma.
Then, William’s gaze dropped to Isabella's wrist.

Fastened securely around her arm was a custom diamond tennis bracelet—the exact one William had commissioned as a wedding gift, featuring a hidden micro-GPS tracker and audio recorder he installed for security purposes. And blinking on the collar of her jacket was the remote monitoring interface connected to the sub-basement security vault.
The mask shattered completely.
