Chapter 10 - A Brighter Tomorrow

Six months after the fateful night behind the baroque painting, the Sterling estate hosted another gathering in the grand ballroom. But this time, there were no glittering crowds of fake socialites, no press cameras flashing outside, and no cold, calculating imposters lurking in the shadows.

It was an intimate, joyful celebration attended only by close friends, loyal staff members, and people who genuinely loved one another.

At the center of the ballroom stood Ethan, dressed in a sharp little suit, proudly holding a microphone to toast his favorite person in the world.

"When I was little and scared, and the dark was too loud, Emma was the only one who listened," Ethan announced into the mic, his voice steady and clear as he looked directly at Emma, who was sitting at the front table with tears of joy shining in her eyes. "She saved my life. And now, she's the best part of our family forever."

The room erupted into warm applause and cheers.

William stood up beside his son, walking over to Emma and offering his hand. As she stood to join them, the crystal chandeliers overhead cast a brilliant, dazzling light across the room—not a cold, blinding glare of superficial wealth, but a warm, golden glow reflecting genuine love, safety, and a hard-fought peace.

William looked down at Emma, taking her hand gently in his. "Thank you for bringing the light back into this house, Emma. Yesterday, today, and for all our tomorrows."

Emma smiled brightly, squeezing his hand in return as Ethan ran up to hug them both.

Surrounded by laughter, safety, and unconditional love, the past was finally put to rest, and their bright, beautiful future had officially begun.
