Part 8: Under the Open Sky

The ceremony was nothing short of magical. As the string quartet played a soft melody, Lily walked down the garden aisle on the arm of her proud brother, Toby. At the end of the aisle stood Victor, watching her with a look of absolute adoration that silenced every demon of his past.

When they exchanged vows, there were no rehearsed, cold corporate promises.

“I promise to protect you, to cherish you, and to stand by your side against any storm,” Victor spoke, his voice steady and full of fierce devotion.

“I promise to love you, to laugh with you, and to build a home where our family will always be safe,” Lily replied, sliding the platinum band onto his finger.

When the officiant pronounced them husband and wife, Victor pulled Lily into a deep, passionate kiss as the guests applauded and rose to their feet. Ethan, sitting in Marcus’s arms in the front row, clapped his little hands together and cheered louder than anyone else.

The reception that followed was a joyous celebration of life, love, and new beginnings. There were no hidden threats, no cold shadows, and no fear. Just music, laughter, fine wine, and the warmth of a true family.
