Chapter 8 - The Storm Before the Dawn

A month later, Nora graduated from university with top honors in Child Psychology. Jonathan had secretly organized a massive celebration at the mansion.

"Congratulations, Miss Nora!" they shouted in unison.
Jonathan stepped forward, wearing a tailored navy suit, carrying a modest wooden box. He handed it to her.
Inside was a official document: a fully funded research foundation in Child Grief Psychology created in her name, along with an offer to head the Whitaker Children's Wellness Center.
"You changed our lives, Nora," Jonathan said, his voice thick with emotion in front of his daughters and close friends. "You didn't just clean our house; you healed our hearts. I don't want you to be our employee anymore."
Nora’s heart skipped a beat. "Jonathan...?"

Hazel stepped up, taking Nora’s other hand. "Please, Nora. We want you to be part of our family."
