Chapter 10 - Happily Ever After

Five years later, the courtyard of the Marchetti estate was bathed in the golden light of a late spring afternoon. Roses bloomed along the white stone walls, and strains of soft classical violin music drifted through the warm air.

It was a day of celebration—not of business, treaties, or territory, but of family and love.

Claire stood before the magnificent floral archway, breathtaking in a gown of ivory lace, her dark hair cascading in soft curls. Waiting for her at the altar was Enzo, impeccably dressed in a tailored charcoal suit, his gaze fixed on her with the same absolute devotion as the night he first held her hand in the dimly lit bedroom on 4th Street.

Down the aisle, scattering delicate pink petals with a joyous grin, walked twelve-year-old Sadie, wearing a beautiful blue dress that paid silent homage to the very beginning of their story.

As Claire reached the altar, Enzo took her hands in his. They were warm, steady, and completely unburdened by the ledgers of the past.

"I told you," Enzo whispered, his voice rich with emotion, "we were going to have that dinner. And a whole lot more."

Claire smiled, her eyes shining with unshed tears of pure happiness. "You kept your promise, Enzo."

"Always," he replied.

Surrounded by family, trusted friends like Ray and Angelo, and the boundless warmth of a life hard-won and deeply cherished, they exchanged their vows. The past was forgiven, the shadows were gone, and their forever had finally begun.
