Chapter 10 - Happily Ever After

Ten years later, the Long Island estate was no longer a mausoleum. It was a home overflowing with life.

The hallways echoed with the footsteps of teenagers—Lucia, Valentina, and Mia were now fourteen-year-old honor students, soccer players, and fierce debaters who ruled the household with bright spirits and sharp minds.

And they weren't the only ones running through the halls anymore.

In the sunlit kitchen, a little boy with dark curls and energetic brown eyes was sitting on the counter, covered head-to-toe in flour, laughing uncontrollably as he stirred a bowl of cookie batter with a wooden spoon.

"Careful, little man," Elena said, walking into the kitchen with a mug of coffee in one hand, smiling down at their six-year-old son, Leo. "If you drop that batter, your father will have to clean it up."

"I can help clean!" Leo shouted proudly.

A pair of strong arms wrapped around Elena’s waist from behind, pulling her back against a warm, solid chest. Dominic rested his chin on her shoulder, looking at their son with a soft, peaceful smile.

"I heard my name," Dominic murmured, pressing a kiss to Elena’s cheek.

"We were just talking about your cleaning skills," Elena teased, turning around in his embrace to wrap her arms around his neck.

Dominic looked around the warm, bustling kitchen. Outside the window, the autumn leaves were turning gold and red. The mansion was filled with the sounds of music, chatter, and life.

He had spent millions trying to buy happiness, trying to force healing with power and control, only to learn that true wealth couldn't be bought in a hospital or a showroom. It was found in forgiveness, in patience, and in a quiet woman with flour on her hands who had walked into a house of ghosts and taught a broken family how to sing again.

Dominic leaned down and kissed his wife softly, whispering against her lips, "I wouldn't change a single thing."
