PART 7: The Unraveling Truth

The storm outside broke with sudden, violent intensity, lightning flashing across the sky and illuminating the dark study where Weston and Clara sat in stunned silence. The revelation hung between them like a physical weight, shifting the entire foundation of their existence.
Before either of them could speak another word, the heavy double doors of the archive flew open.
Julian stood in the doorway, his usually immaculate composure completely shattered. He was breathing heavily, holding a encrypted tablet in his hand.
"Weston," Julian said urgently, ignoring protocol entirely. "We have a major breach. Silas Marchetti has mobilized his entire inner circle. He knows about the document in the music box."
Weston stood up instantly, the fragile vulnerability vanishing in a fraction of a second, replaced by the lethal, calculating coldness of the Quiet King. "How?"
"Genevieve," Julian replied grimly. "She went straight to her father after you threw her out of your study. She found out about the archive access logs and put the pieces together. Silas is moving now. He’s sending a strike team to the estate tonight to eliminate any remaining evidence—and anyone who knows the truth."
Clara gasped, panic gripping her heart. "Lily! My baby is in the west wing!"
"She's safe," Julian reassured her quickly. "I already had a security detail move her and Mrs. Gable down to the reinforced panic shelter beneath the library. But Silas's men are already breaching the perimeter gates."
Weston’s eyes narrowed into slits of pure ice. He reached into his coat and pulled out a heavy Beretta pistol, checking the magazine with a practiced, fluid motion. He walked over to the oak desk, unlocked a hidden wall panel, and retrieved a tactical assault harness, strapping it over his broad chest.
"They think they can come into my house and finish what they started three years ago," Weston said, his voice a low, terrifying growl. "They made a fatal mistake."
He turned to Clara, his gaze softening for a fraction of a second. "Stay in the archive. Lock this door from the inside. Julian will stay with you. I am going to finish this once and for all."
May you like
"No," Clara said, standing up with a sudden, fierce determination that surprised even Weston. She wiped the tears from her face and clutched the folded parchment paper against her chest. "My daughter's life was stolen by those monsters. My life was destroyed by them. I am not hiding anymore."
Weston stared at her for a long moment, seeing the unbreakable steel hidden beneath her gentle exterior. He nodded once. "Stay behind me."
