Chapter 10 - Dawn of the Moretti Dynasty

Five years later.

The morning sun rose bright and clear over the rolling green hills of the Moretti estate. The grand manor, once cold, dark, and filled with silent shadows, was now vibrant with life and warmth.

Laughter echoed across the front lawn.

A five-year-old boy with dark, intelligent eyes and thick wavy hair was running across the grass, chasing a golden retriever puppy. He was wearing a small tweed jacket and leather boots, his face bright with joy.

"Leo! Don't run too fast! You'll trip over the hose!" a voice called out from the terrace.

It was Sophia. Now thirteen years old, she had grown into a brilliant, poised young lady attending the city's prestigious academy, her bright smile as warm as the day she had saved Leo’s life.

"I'm fast like a lion, Sophia!" Leo shouted back, kicking a small soccer ball toward the flower beds.

I stood on the marble terrace, holding a warm cup of black coffee, watching my son play. Beside me stood Clara, who had become my closest companion, trusted business partner, and the co-director of the Leo Moretti Children's Foundation.

"He has your energy, Alessandro," Clara said with a soft smile, leaning against the terrace railing. "And your stubbornness."

"He has his grandfather's heart," I replied, setting my cup down on the wrought-iron table.

Marco walked up the terrace steps, dressed in his crisp suit, carrying a leather brief. He looked older, his hair silvered at the temples, but his eyes were sharp as ever.

"Good morning, Don Alessandro," Marco bowed his head slightly. "The quarterly report for the Leo Moretti Children's Hospital just arrived. We have successfully funded over ten thousand free surgeries this year alone."

"Excellent work, Marco," I said, taking the document. "And the shipping lines?"

"Operating at maximum efficiency under Miss Clara's direction," Marco said, nodding politely toward Clara. "The trade routes are completely secure, and the syndicate has successfully transitioned ninety percent of its operations into fully legitimate, high-growth global enterprises."

"A clean legacy," I noted, looking out at the sprawling grounds.

"A lasting legacy, Boss," Marco corrected with a proud smile.

Down on the lawn, Leo suddenly stopped running and looked up toward the terrace. He spotted me, his face lighting up with absolute joy.

"Daddy! Look!" he shouted, pointing toward a majestic eagle soaring high in the clear blue sky above the estate. "It’s flying super high!"

I walked down the stone steps into the warm sunlight, kneeling on the grass as my son ran into my arms. I lifted him high into the air, his delighted laughter ringing across the estate that had once been a battleground for his survival.

I set him down on his feet and looked into his bright eyes—the eyes of an heir who was born in darkness, rescued by innocence, and raised in unconditional love.

"Do you know why that eagle flies so high, Leo?" I asked, resting my hand on his shoulder.

"Why, Daddy?"

"Because it’s not afraid of the wind," I said gently. "It uses the storm to rise higher than everything else."

Leo smiled, clutching his soccer ball tight against his chest. "Like us?"

May you like

"Like us," I promised, taking his small hand in mine as we walked back toward the house, surrounded by the family that had stood firm against the tide of darkness.

The war was over. The kingdom was restored. And the Moretti dynasty had finally found its peace.
