Chapter 6 - The Unveiling of the Viper

Dominic walked up to the microphone on the ballroom stage. The chatter of the high-society crowd died down instantly. All eyes turned to the undisputed king of Chicago's underworld.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” Dominic began, his voice echoing powerfully through the crystal chandeliers. “Thank you for joining us tonight. We are here to celebrate legacy, family, and the future.”
Victoria stood near the front, her smile radiant, expecting him to announce their wedding date and cement their union.
“But legacy is a fragile thing,” Dominic continued, his gaze locking onto Victoria. “It requires trust. It requires protection. And most of all, it requires weeding out the parasites that seek to destroy it from within.”
A murmur ran through the crowd. Silvio Santoro’s brow furrowed, his hand instinctively moving toward his jacket.
“Tonight, I wanted to share a special tribute,” Dominic said. He signaled to the tech booth at the back of the room. “A look behind the scenes of the beautiful family we’ve built.”
The massive projection screens behind the stage flared to life.
But it wasn’t photos of charity work or romantic vacations.
It was the video of Lucas being dragged across the kitchen by his hair.
The ballroom gasped. A collective, horrified shock rippled through the hundreds of guests.
Then came the second video: Victoria striking Sophia, the child’s small body colliding with the chair. The audio was crystal clear, filling the vaulted ceilings of the Drake Hotel with Sophia’s desperate, heart-wrenching sobs.
Victoria’s face drained of color. She took a step back, her hands flying to her mouth. “Dominic… what is this? This is a fabrication! A deepfake!”
“And finally,” Dominic’s voice cut through her panic like a scythe, “let us hear my beautiful fiancée's plans for my children.”
The third video played. Victoria’s voice echoed: “The children will no longer be a problem. If you tell your father, I’ll make sure he never sees you again.”
The crowd turned on Victoria with a visceral disgust. Even in the criminal underworld, there were rules. You do not touch children. You do not abuse the innocent.
“You’re done, Victoria,” Dominic said, stepping off the stage.
Silvio Santoro drew his weapon, shouting, “Kill him!” But before his men could even raise their firearms, Dominic’s loyal guards, who had quietly surrounded the perimeter, opened fire with suppressed weapons. Silvio’s guards dropped instantly, and Marcus slammed Silvio face-first onto a banquet table, pinning him down.
Victoria turned to run, but she found herself blocked by two towering Moretti security officers. She spun back to Dominic, her eyes wild with venomous rage, her elegant mask completely shattered.

“You think you’ve won?” she screamed. “You’re already dead, Dominic! The poison is in your blood! You’re a dead man walking!”
“I haven’t drank your tea in weeks, Victoria,” Dominic said, walking up to her, his face a mask of absolute authority. “But you? You’re going to spend the rest of your life in a place where no one will ever hear you scream.”
