Chapter 6 - Confronting the Ghost of Dr. Hallow

Dante didn't waste a moment. By that afternoon, Dr. Vincent Hallow—now a wealthy, retired physician living in a luxurious penthouse funded by anonymous offshore accounts—found himself dragged into the soundproof basement of Moretti Tower. He was stripped of his expensive suit, tied to a heavy steel chair, trembling under the glaring light of a single bulb.
Dante walked into the room, followed by Marcus. Dante didn't bring weapons. He brought a simple manila folder.
"Dr. Hallow," Dante said smoothly, leaning against the edge of the table. "Ten years ago, you signed my mother's death certificate. You told me her heart simply gave out."
"It... it did, Mr. Moretti! She was very sick!" Hallow stammered, sweat pouring down his face.
Dante opened the folder, tossing the pharmacy logs and Clara’s detailed annotations onto the doctor's lap. "My new medical advisor disagrees. She is very thorough. She notes that you received a wire transfer of two million dollars into a Swiss account exactly three days after the funeral. Care to explain?"
Hallow swallowed hard, looking desperately at the door. "It was a medical research grant!"
Marcus stepped forward, his heavy hand slamming onto Hallow’s shoulder, crushing the bone down until the doctor shrieked in agony.
"I have very little patience today, Doctor," Dante whispered, his eyes flashing with lethal intent. "A little girl almost lost her mother today because my mother's killer was still walking free. Tell me the truth, or Marcus will ensure you never hold a medical instrument, or walk, again."

Broken by fear, Hallow sobbed. "It was Valeria! It was Valeria St. Clair! She discovered your mother was going to rewrite the family trust to exclude her family's businesses. Isabella knew Valeria was a parasite. Valeria told me if I didn't eliminate her before the trust was signed, she would have my medical license destroyed for a previous malpractice cover-up. She forced my hand! Please, Dante, mercy!"
Dante turned his back. "Keep him alive, Marcus. He is our star witness."
