Chapter 10 - A New Dawn for the Hayes and Moretti

Dante reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, velvet box. He didn't offer a cold ring born of political alliances or corporate mergers.
He opened it to reveal a beautiful, vintage gold ring set with a brilliant, deep green emerald—the exact color of Clara's eyes, and a symbol of healing and new beginnings.
"I spent my whole life surrounded by people who wanted what I owned," Dante said, his voice thick with uncharacteristic emotion. "But when I called your phone that morning, and I heard your little girl, I realized I had absolutely nothing of value until I found you. I don't want a secretary, Clara. And I don't need an empire built on fear. I want a family. I want to protect you, and I want to love Lily as my own. Will you marry me?"
Clara’s eyes welled with tears. She looked at the man who had torn down a door to save her, who had brought justice to his mother, and who looked at her daughter with nothing but pure tenderness.
"Yes, Dante. A thousand times, yes," she whispered.
Lily came running over, throwing her arms around both of their legs. "Does this mean Mr. Dante lives with us now?"

Dante scooped Lily up into his arms, laughing—a sound the Moretti estate hadn't heard in decades. "No, little one. It means you and your mommy are living with me. And nobody is ever going to make you feel cold or scared again."
The sun set over the garden, bathing the new family in warm, golden light. The shadows of the past were finally gone, replaced by a love that had healed the broken, and a truth that had set them all free.
