Chapter 10 - Forever After

The autumn air had returned to Manhattan, turning the leaves of Central Park into a brilliant mosaic of gold, amber, and crimson.
A year and a half after the rainy afternoon that changed everything, the sprawling lawns of the Harrington family estate in Westchester County were filled with laughter, music, and the bright chatter of family and close friends.
It was the first birthday party for Ethan, Liam, and Noah—a grand celebration attended by close confidants, senior executives, and trusted allies who had stood by the family through thick and thin.
In the center of the manicured lawn stood three matching blue-and-gold birthday cakes, surrounded by balloons and wrapped gifts.
Emily stood near the garden terrace, wearing an elegant cream-colored silk dress that flowed softly in the autumn breeze. Her dark hair was styled in loose waves, and a genuine, radiant smile graced her face—a smile born of true peace, unshakable confidence, and deep, unconditional love.
Ethan and Liam were busy trying to smear blue frosting across each other's cheeks, while Noah sat calmly on a velvet picnic blanket, inspecting a wooden toy train with intense analytical focus.
William and Eleanor walked over, each holding a flute of champagne, their eyes beaming with pride as they watched their grandsons.
"Look at them," Eleanor whispered happily, leaning her head against William's shoulder. "They grow faster every single day."
"They have their mother's spirit," William replied, raising his glass toward Emily. "To Emily. The strongest woman I have ever known."
Emily clinked her glass against her father's and mother's, her heart swelling with gratitude.
"To new beginnings," Emily said softly, looking down at her three sons as they laughed together on the lawn.
Across the city, miles away behind cold stone walls, Nathan Brooks sat in a narrow prison cell, forgotten by society, stripped of his title, his wealth, and his future—left to ponder the devastating cost of arrogance, cruelty, and the day he walked into a hospital room believing he had humiliated a helpless woman.
But here, under the warm autumn sun of her true home, Emily Harrington knew the ultimate truth.
