Chapter 7 - A HOUSE BECOMES A HOME

The day Nathan brought Mia and baby Leo home to his penthouse, the grand, quiet estate felt entirely different.

The cold marble floors were now covered with soft, thick rugs. The minimalist glass tables had been replaced with rounded, child-safe furniture. Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating a nursery filled with warm yellow tones, plush toys, and soft cribs.

Mia walked through the front doors timidly, clutching Nathan’s hand. She stared at the high ceilings and the warm fireplace.

"Is this your palace?" she whispered.

"It's our home," Nathan said softly. "As long as you want it to be."

The first few weeks were exhausting and chaotic. Leo had colic and cried through the night. Mia suffered from nightmares, waking up terrified that she was back in the cardboard box in Westfield Square, frozen and alone.

Every time she woke up screaming, Nathan was there. He would sit on the edge of her bed, hold her small hands, and reassure her until her breathing slowed. He learned to manage late-night feedings for Leo and business conference calls by day, often balancing the baby on his lap while reviewing corporate reports.

His friends and business partners thought he had lost his mind. His schedule was ruined, his social life vanished, but Nathan had never felt more alive.
