When our daughter finally arrived, her loud, healthy cry echoed through the bright delivery room, instantly washing away every ounce of stress and sorrow from our past. The doctor placed her directly onto Claire’s chest, and as my wife looked down at the tiny, perfect face wrapped in a soft white blanket, tears of pure joy streamed down her cheeks.

"She has your eyes," I replied, leaning down to press a tender kiss to Claire's forehead before gently kissing our newborn daughter's cheek.
