Chapter 10 - A Brighter Tomorrow

Spring returned to the city a year and a few months after that terrifying night in the hospital. The trees outside our apartment bloomed with vibrant pink cherry blossoms, signaling new beginnings and fresh warmth in the air.

I sat at the kitchen island of our newly purchased home—a modest, sunlit house with a big backyard, a sturdy wooden fence, and a tire swing hanging from the old oak tree out front.
