Chapter 6 - The Breach at the Estate

We arrived at the Long Beach container yard under the cover of dusk. Fog rolled off the Pacific, blanketing the rows of towering shipping containers in a thick, gray shroud.
"Sarah, take high ground on the crane assembly," I commanded through the comms. "Knox, you're with me on breach. Miller, kill their communications and lights on my mark."
"Copy that. In position," Sarah confirmed over the radio. "I've got eyes on two guards on the perimeter. Silenced shots ready."
Pfft. Pfft.
Two subtle thuds echoed as Sarah eliminated the exterior guards cleanly. Knox and I moved like shadows through the maze of metal containers.
Up ahead, through the mist, I saw the illuminated office container. Standing outside were two of Evelyn’s sisters, laughing and drinking wine from plastic cups while holding silenced handguns. They were acting like they were at a tailgate party, completely unbothered by the innocent child locked inside.
"Miller... kill the power," I ordered.

Instantly, every floodlight in the yard plunged into total darkness.
Panicked screams erupted from the sisters. Knox moved in like a battering ram, neutralizing both of them before they could even raise their weapons. I swept past them, blowing the heavy steel door hinges off the primary container with explosive breaching tape.
