Chapter 6 - Upstairs Reckoning

Up in the main service hallway, Rochelle Pierce was still smiling, imagining the look of utter defeat on Brielle’s face when she was dragged upstairs in disgrace.
Instead, the heavy service doors flew open, and two towering security guards in sharp black suits stepped into the corridor. Their faces were carved from granite.
“Rochelle Pierce?” the lead guard asked coldly.
“Yes? What is the meaning of this? You should be down there helping Mrs. Vance remove that brat—”
“You are terminated with immediate effect,” the guard interrupted, holding out a digital tablet. “Turn in your keys, your access badge, and your uniform apron. You have three minutes to clear out your locker.”
Rochelle’s face drained of all color. Her jaw dropped. “Terminated? You can’t do that! I’ve been here for five years! I’m the head manager! Where is Mr. Calloway? I demand to speak to Mr. Calloway!”
“Mr. Calloway is currently occupied holding Miss Dawson’s child,” the guard replied flatly. “And he has explicitly stated that anyone who participates in workplace harassment or bullying will be escorted off the property by us.”
Before Rochelle could protest further, the basement door swung open, and Marcus and Eleanor were marched out by the second guard, their faces burning with humiliation.
“Let go of me! Do you know who my family is?” Eleanor shrieked, struggling against the guard’s iron grip as restaurant patrons dining in the main hall turned their heads to watch the spectacle.

“We know exactly who you are, Mrs. Vance,” the guard said smoothly. “And Mr. Calloway has made it clear that Harbor & Ash does not cater to bullies.”
Rochelle tried to grab her purse from the counter, but the first guard gently yet firmly steered her toward the rear exit. Within five minutes, all three tormentors were standing on the wet Seattle pavement outside the service entrance, the heavy metal door clicking shut behind them with a final, unyielding sound.
