Part 4 – The Truth Finally Comes Out

During questioning, everyone blamed everyone else.

Janet insisted it was Frank's idea.

Frank claimed Adam requested it.

Adam denied everything.

Until investigators recovered deleted text messages.

One conversation changed the entire case.

Adam:
"I need to know if she's planning to move with Mia."

Janet:
"Then we'll make sure we always know where the child is."

Frank:
"Put the tracker in something she'll never leave behind."

Another message arrived a day later.

"Birthday bear is perfect."

I stared at the printed pages.

My hands shook.

Not from fear.

From disbelief.

They had planned this together.

Not to protect Mia.

Not because they loved her.

Because they wanted access.

They wanted to know where we lived.

Who visited.

Whether I was dating.

Whether I intended to relocate.

Everything.

Using my daughter.

The district attorney approved charges involving unlawful electronic surveillance, illegal tracking, and interception of private communications.

Watching Janet and Frank leave the courthouse in handcuffs felt surreal.

Adam wasn't arrested immediately, but he lost every remaining claim of credibility.

The family court judge suspended his unsupervised visitation pending the criminal investigation.

When the hearing ended, Adam looked at me.

"I never meant for this to happen."

I answered honestly.

"You meant for it to happen."

May you like

"You just never expected to get caught."

He couldn't argue.
