Chapter 9 - A New Foundation
With the legal proceedings concluded—Margaret having accepted a plea deal that stripped her of her assets, placed her on five years of felony probation, and required 500 hours of community service—William’s divorce was finalized.
As part of the settlement, the family mansion was sold. William split the proceeds, giving a significant portion to Andrew to manage the new, restructured trust fund.
But Andrew and I didn't want the money for luxury cars or fancy houses.
"We’re going to build something," Andrew announced one evening, looking over a set of architectural blueprints on our coffee table.
"What's this?" I asked, leaning over his shoulder.
"It’s the Khloe Vance Foundation for Young Artists," Andrew said, his eyes shining with excitement. "A free after-school program for kids who want to paint, draw, and sculpt, but whose families can't afford the supplies or classes. We’re funding it entirely with the recovered trust money and my portion of the house sale."
Khloe, who was sitting on the rug, looked up with wide, shining eyes. "A school? Named after me?"

"A creative space, sweetie," Andrew said, pulling her onto his lap. "Where every single child who walks through the door is told exactly how proud we are of them. No exceptions."
Khloe wrapped her arms around Andrew's neck, hugging him tightly. "You’re the best dad in the whole world."
